Manufactured in West Germany by Scheurich Keramik during the height of mid-century European art pottery production in the 1960s and ‘70s, this Foligno floor vase stands at a tall 47cm - hence the model number on the base, 289-47. It features an Aztec-inspired geometric relief with rich ochre mustard and brown glazes set against a dark green background - or in other words it looks a bit like a pineapple. It can be used as a floor vase or an umbrella stand. It’s 47cm tall and 16cm in diameter and a little heavy. It’s in excellent vintage condition.
